We're on a mission to protect nature

Backyard Nature is inspiring families to tackle the nature crisis and make a real difference to the planet. How? By providing them with the tools they need to help plants and animals thrive on their patch of nature – whether they live in the heart of a city or the middle of the countryside.

Throughout the year, Backyard Nature’s seasonal missions focus on protecting wildlife that is in need of our help.

Since 2019, we have:

• Planted 330,000 wildflower seedballs (containing 15 million seeds) to help Save the Bees
• Made sure there is plenty to eat on our patches to Feed the Birds
• Built 350,000 bug hotels to show that we Love Bugs
• Planted 200,000 wildflower seedballs to celebrate Backyard Nature appearing in the documentary Prince William: A Planet for Us All
• Protected nature in Wales, using fantastic resources in English and Welsh, in our Wild Wales mission
• Produced resources to help community groups run sessions to connect young people with nature.
